"I am excited to serve as Chair of the 2005- 2006 Alumni Council and look forward to working with fellow alumni in the coming year," remarked Mr. Kozhin. "Building on the success of years past, the Council continues to work on a number of exciting initiatives to provide alumni with more ways to stay connected to SternNet - the NYU Stern global alumni network. Some of these initiatives include conducting outreach to regional groups around the world; developing new opportunities for social and networking gatherings; increasing participation in the Career Advisory Program (CAP); and strengthening outreach to additional segments of our alumni population, including graduates of the PHD Program, Alumnae and Underrepresented Minorities."
"Additionally, I urge all members of the Stern community, students and alumni alike, to become an active participant in SternNet - the NYU Stern global alumni network, by signing on to SWAP - the Stern Worldwide Alumni Platform," said Mr. Kozhin.

About the Alumni Council

The Alumni Council comprises 27 Stern alumni and three students representing the graduate and undergraduate programs. Each alumnus/a member is appointed by the Dean's office to serve a two-year term. Each student representative, who for the 2005-2006 academic year includes Ben MacDonald of the full-time MBA program, Alex Henderson of the Langone program, and Rick Hoffman of the Undergraduate College, serves a one-year appointment. Prior to their appointment, all alumni members have been active volunteers in the Stern community by participating in mentor programs, speaking in a class or student conference, or serving on one of the various task forces and committees established by the Council. These task forces and committees focus on areas that create opportunities for alumni to strengthen ties with the Stern community, including programming, career development, regional alumni activity, recent graduate outreach, as well as industry-specific, alumnae network and underrepresented minority alumni engagement.
