May 5-12: Commencement guest and candidate ticket distribution, academic attire distribution, and Grad Alley wristband distribution at Coles

Grad Alley will be an evening filled with music, food, and other entertainment. Formal invitations will be mailed with the NYU Commencement invitation in early April. Three Grad Alley wristbands, one for the candidate and two for guests, will be included with each candidate’s All-University Commencement tickets that were ordered via TorchTone.

The NYU Commencement ceremony includes a major address, a student valedictory, the awarding of honorary degrees to a number of distinguished guests, and the conferring of degrees and certificates. The University will continue its tradition of officially announcing the names of the honorary degree recipients shortly before Commencement. Because more than 5,000 students are expected to attend, it is not possible to recognize each individual by name. Instead, the deans will introduce each class as a whole, and a representative selected in advance will receive a symbolic diploma for each degree category.
You will receive information regarding academic attire in your NYU Commencement invitations, which will be mailed in early April. If you do not receive this information by early April, please email mbagraduation@stern.nyu.edu.

Stern Graduate Convocation Ceremony(Tickets required)

1:45 pm (Graduates arrive at Radio City Music Hall dressed in academic attire)
2:15 pm (Theatre doors open for guests; Graduates line up for the procession)
3:00 to 5:00 pm (Ceremony)

Stern Convocation honors students who have completed the requirements for advanced degrees from the Stern School and recognizes each student individually. A professional photograph is taken of each candidate and mailed to his/her permanent address approximately two weeks after the ceremony. Degrees will be awarded; however, diplomas will be mailed to candidates’ home addresses.
If you do not receive an invitation for Stern Convocation in the mail by early April, first check your status for graduation eligibility with Stern’s Office of Records and Registration. If you do indeed meet the eligibility requirements and still have not received an invitation, please e-mail mbagraduation@stern.nyu.edu.
