It's a bird, it's a plane, its SPRING BREAK!!! Is it just me, or did it come right out of the sky while we were in the middle of everything, when the indomitable b-school hectic-ness seemed to have reached its peak. This issue is abuzz with news of happenings in and around school and for some reason it feels like there was more going on these two weeks than usual. I guess early spring is conference season.

This time I cannot think of a noble cause to dedicate my editorial to, like Ms. Obama's taste in sleeveless dresses or why the amount of class work required for my professional responsibility class is criminally insane or my new addiction to pumpkin tempura sushi, so I am going to write about my non-existent spring break plans. Which is quite a noble cause in itself as I plan to dedicate it to a Valuation project, and various assorted final papers. What is a little bit surprising though, is the large number of my classmates who seem to have chosen other such noble deeds - not involving travel, for this spring break. I am going to be in good company for the week!

Talking of noble deeds I am now more deeply in love with Sean Penn after his Oscar acceptance speech. I'd highly recommend watching MILK because its just a great movie. A more sincere homage to Harvey Milk would not have been possible. Its all the more relevant now for obvious reasons, and I think few have put it better than Penn - "I think that it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect and anticipate their great shame and the shame in their grandchildren's eyes if they continue that way of support." I just love how he said it. (Aside - try to catch his after Oscars press conference where he talks more about the same.) I plan to check out his earlier movies and any of the earlier works of Lance Black.

And that list also includes movies by Danny Boyle. I just watched Trainspotting and can I just say, in all caps for effect - OH MY GOD, THAT'S ONE AMAZING MOVIE!!! It also made me see the jumping into a you-know-what scene in Slumdog Millionnaire, that some of my co-patriots have had choice objections to, in a different light. Shit is Danny Boyle's thing. Like naked female ankles for Quentin Tarantino. Get over it people!

So movies, studying (well, we are all old and wise enough to know I don't really mean the studying bit, for all my noble intentions, but I am still going to leave that on the list for now to convey the perceived authenticity of said noble intentions), random new yorky things with non-travelling pals, and making plans to make the best use of the random-ness that is going to be my last two months at Stern are on the agenda for the break. And it can't be coming any sooner! But before I get there, there is an M&A assignment begging for some love and warmth. Have a great spring break and don't forget to wear sunscreen :)
