Have you thought about hiking on the Great Wall of China or strolling through Las Ramblas in Barcelona? Do you want to learn about the world economy steps from the Hong Kong Exchange or gain invaluable experience hearing world class professors lecture about Finance in London? Did you know that you can do this and more all while earning credits toward your Stern MBA? Each year more than 80 MBA students spend a semester study abroad at one of our 44 partner universities around the world. Next year at this time, you could be on your way to studying at London Business School, IESE in Barcelona, CEIBS or Guanghua University in China, or the Australian Graduate School of Management in Sydney. If this sounds fantastic but you are worried about spending a whole semester away from Stern – then try one of our Short Term Study Abroad programs. You can spend between one and six weeks during Summer 2010 studying in Germany, Argentina, South Korea, or Denmark.

MBA International Programs will be accepting online applications for the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters beginning Wednesday, February 10, 2010. To be considered for an exchange slot in either one of these semesters, or for one of the Short Term programs in the Summer 2010, please complete an online application located on the MBA International Programs web pages. In addition to the application you will need to submit your resume and schedule an interview with a member of the MBA Academic Affairs team. Please note, recruiting for study abroad program in the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters will take place in March 2010 only. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to spend a semester

Imagine exploring new cultures and acclimating to a new environment all while getting a first rate education – these are just a few of the benefits of participating in a Study Abroad program at Stern. “Studying Abroad is a life changing experience for many,” said Kyle Cunningham, Director of MBA Academic Affairs. “You learn as much outside of the classroom as you do in the classroom. You learn about yourself and gain a new world perspective.” Stern has sent all types of students abroad; both full and part time students may participate. Some students may have traveled for pleasure or studied abroad in their undergraduate programs and others may have never before traveled internationally. We look for students who will be great ambassadors of Stern and who want to learn a great deal in and out of the classroom. Students may be reluctant to leave the classes and friends they have made here at Stern. However, what they might not realize is how studying abroad opens up new doors and opportunities that will only enhance their MBA experience. “When else in your life will you be encouraged to take six months off to study and travel halfway around the world?”

You are eligible to study abroad if you are in good academic standing and you have completed your required Core courses as well as 28.5 credits by the time the study abroad program will take place. You may take electives in almost every arena of business while earning up to 15 credits at one of our partner universities.

Come learn more about full semester exchange and short term summer programs at the MBA International Programs Information Fair on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 4:30p in KMC 1-100 (Gardner Commons).
