Equal Opportunity

From the moment we stepped foot on Gould Plaza during pre-term, the Class of 2010 has been our prototype for success. I’m sure you all remember being bombarded with myriad questions upon meeting any MBA1. “Where did you work this summer? What classes should I take? What was your study group like? What’s a derivative?” (Okay...maybe that last one was just me). In the midst of the craziness of fall recruiting, you always made time to help us sort out these questions. You may not conceptualize the impact of those moments, but they really are the little things that make Stern feel like a family.
In particular, many of you have touched my life in ways I will never forget. Thank you Robyn, for showing me that I actually do have the capacity to speak “math.” Godfrey, thank you for taking a chance on a stubborn kid and teaching me how to prioritize. Chima, thank you for being my big brother away from home. Shyra, thank you for showing me that working hard is no excuse not to look fabulous! Burleise, Sabrina, Leconie, thank you for being there to offer an encouraging hug when I needed it (which was often). Thank you to Deborah and Rakesh for giving me the gift of “OPPYtunity”. Our many late night coaching sessions and your constant encouragement inspired a confidence in me that spans far beyond my work with the Oppy. Most of all, thank you to the collective group of graduating students. Your energy and dedication are the foundation upon which we will build relationships with the next generation of Sternies. You showed us the way.
Love to everyone and best of luck with finals!
